NAMBA had its first fore' into the instructional world, with a series of classes conducted at the annual Women in the Outdoors event, hosted by the National Wild Turkey Federation.
The event was held May 30th, at chapman State Park, and consisted of two dozen different classes ranging from watercolors to outdoor survival. Each woman who registered could sign up for a maximum of four classes, which rotated through-out the day. Lunch, a silent auction and live music was also provided.
New this year was a mountain bike class, conducted by members of the NAMBA race team. The class consisted of bike fitting, basic bike care and a beginner ride through a portion of the park.
Bikes for the event where provided by Hollyloft Ski and Bike. Every bike used was female specific in design, providing a much more relaxed ride for the participants.
This year proved to be a great experience for both the NAMBA members and the women who signed up. We look forward to another great time next year. A few pictures of the event can be found on the photo page of the website.
The event for 2010 will be held on the first Saturday in June.
